Meet the Team
Susanne Urzendowsky
Executive Director
As the Executive Director of Hospice Georgina, I am committed to fostering a culture of compassion, collaboration, and excellence. I believe that every person deserves dignity, comfort, and meaningful support at the end of life, and I am dedicated to ensuring that Hospice Georgina continues to provide exceptional care, grief support, and community education.
Throughout my career in hospice leadership, program development, and social work, I have been inspired by the resilience of the people and communities I have had the privilege to serve. I value building strong partnerships, encouraging innovation, and empowering our staff and volunteers to make a meaningful difference every day. My vision is to strengthen Hospice Georgina's impact while nurturing an inclusive and compassionate environment where individuals, families, volunteers, and our community feel supported, connected, and cared for.
Victoria Vass
Operations Coordinator
I first joined Hospice Georgina as a volunteer in November 2020 before becoming a staff member in June 2021. I began my journey as the Programs and Outreach Coordinator and now serve as the Operations Coordinator, where I support the day-to-day operations that help our team provide compassionate care to the community. I enjoy creating efficient systems, solving problems, and helping ensure our staff and volunteers have what they need to make a meaningful difference.
What I love most about my role is being part of an organization that makes such a positive impact on people’s lives. I’m passionate about supporting our team behind the scenes and finding ways to strengthen the work we do together. It’s a privilege to contribute to Hospice Georgina’s mission and to be part of such a caring and dedicated community.
Debbie Waterman
Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
Hi everyone, I’m the administrative assistant and will likely be the person who greets you when visiting our office. I believe we all need a little help at times, and Hospice Georgina is here to do exactly that: help you when you need it the most.
I enjoy crafting, especially doing macrame projects. I absolutely love animals, big or small, I love them all. Spending my downtime with family and friends over a nice meal and good conversation is one of my favourite things to do.
Always remember, it doesn't cost you a thing to be kind!
Tina Woodward Hurley
Grief & Bereavement Coordinator
I am a Recreation Therapist currently pursuing studies in Social Work and Psychology at Laurentian University. With over five years of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in supporting individuals through grief and bereavement. As a long-time resident of Georgina, I am deeply committed to fostering healing, resilience, and connection within our community. My work is guided by empathy, respect, and a belief in the power of growth through life’s most challenging moments.
"Through grief, we learn to grow, to heal, and to love again- not despite our loss, but because of the strength it teaches us."
