Hospice Georgina can be accessed by anyone.
Clients may be referred by a Physician, Nurse, Community Care Access
Centre, Hospital, Clergy, Family, Primary Care Giver, Friend, or by self
referral.

Services provided by Hospice Georgina are free of charge.

Our staff work professionally and co-operatively with existing health
care services to ensure continuity of care that enables a quality end
of life experience.

We offer opportunities for members of the Georgina community to
become trained volunteers who visit clients, to become involved in
fundraising and community awareness and to serve on our Board of
Directors.
 
Hospice Georgina is a registered non-profit charitable organization
supported in part by:

Facts about Hospice Georgina:

·    Founded in 1994, delivers hospice services to the residents of the            Town of Georgina on both the mainland and on Georgina Island.

·    Is supported by a volunteer Board of Director.

·    Provides caring, trained volunteers dedicated to providing non-medical, physical, emotional and spiritual support to people in Georgina coping         with life-threatening or terminal illness.

·    Provides respite care for caregivers who are looking after a loved one            at home.

·    Provides grief and bereavement programs and a lending library to           support adults and children surrounding the death of a loved one.

·    Sponsors the Rainbows Canada program in local schools.

·    Maintains the Memory Tree at the Peace Garden at the Georgina              Civic Centre.

·    Offers hospice services for no fee.
